Pear Chocolate Cake
Decadent chocolate and juicy fresh pears make a blend from heaven! Moist and rich, this cake is comforting and uplifting. Although it is easy to make, it will be a showstopper and impress your guests!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- Zest of 1 orange
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 whole pears
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F (180 C).
- Line a 9-inch round springform cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the flour with the cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and orange zest. Set aside.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the oil with the sugar on high speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time whisking after each addition.
- Add the vanilla extract. Lower the speed and fold in the dry ingredients alternating with the milk starting with the flour mixture and ending with it.
- Pour the mixture in the prepared pan and place the pears in the batter.
- Bake the cake in the heated oven for around 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Pass a knife around the edges of the pan and gently release the cake and place it on a serving platter.
- Slice, serve and enjoy!
