Panettone

Panettone is a traditional Italian sweet bread enjoyed during the holiday season. It is an aromatic cake with a texture as fluffy and soft as a cloud, usually studded with sultana raisins and candied fruits. Here I went for the chocolate chips and orange zest option so the outcome was a delectable rich cake with an intense uplifting aroma, unleashed with every slice.

  6. Fold in the chocolate chips then transfer the dough to a panettone mold and brush the surface with some melted butter so that is stays moist.

  8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (176 C).
  9. Whisk the remaining egg with 1 tbsp water and spread the wash over the panettone. Sprinkle with some sugar and place in the heated oven.
