Sugar Plums

If you happen to be having “visions of sugar plums dancing in your heads” around this time of year, here is a simple easy recipe that will satisfy your cravings and transfer you to a magical fairy land.

These little gems are the perfect addition to your holiday table and will bring a feeling of an old- fashioned Christmas into your home!

Sugar Plums

Yield: 12 sugar plums

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almonds toasted
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 cup dried plums
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Place the almond in a food processor and blitz until roughly chopped.
  2. Add the honey, spices and orange zest. Blitz until well mixed.
  3. Add the dried fruits and run the machine again blitzing until combined with the nut mixture.
  4. Mix in the vanilla.
  5. Use an ice cream scoop to take out equal pieces from the dough.
  6. Shape them into balls and toss in the sugar.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
