Walnut Pistachio Meat Patties with Lemony Yogurt Sauce

Walnut Pistachio Meat Patties with Lemony Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
For the patties
- 1 pound ground meat of your choice (beef, lamb, chicken….)
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/4 cup roasted walnuts finely ground
- 1/2 cup raw toasted pistachios chopped
- 1 cup fresh mixed herbs finely chopped (parsley, cilantro, dill..)
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the yogurt sauce
- 2 cups Greek
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sumac

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F(200 C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the ground meat with the remaining ingredients and knead well with your wet hands until well combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into patties the size and thickness of your choice and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake in the heated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing the yogurt with the lemon zest and juice, olive oil and sumac.
- Transfer the patties to a serving platter.
- Drizzle with some more sumac and serve with the yogurt sauce and a side of your favorite salad.
